I kind of thought the new had       >covered or replaced the old              Nope. You have to look for the terminus of the       old one at the top of the hill. It's kinda hidden       behind the visitor center or whatever the       roadside attraction is there at the top of       the hill these days. Some truckers prefer the       easier twisting old road than the scare of       barreling down that new one with it's "escape       ramps" every mile or two. I recall when a       truck went THROUGH one of those escape ramps       when I lived there - and kept on going! I       think they hastily deepened and lengthened       the gravel pits after that incident.              Lewiston itself has added several interesting       downhill runs since I lived there, connecting       "The Orchards" to the river level. After all,       you're diving into "Hell's Canyon" whenever       you descend to river level there!              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
