   There is one of McCarthy's older books that   
   I've yet to get my hands on - Orchard Keeper.   
   Otherwise, I thought his early books were far   
   more interesting/inventive than his later   
   Border Trilogy series, although I enjoyed the   
   latter - just not as much.
