   Well as to him being a windy writer, I think that is a symptom of   
   today's publishers.  It seems they like to "pad" the books to add   
   an additional 200 to 300 pages.  Then they make a series out of   
   it, reach 10 books, then the author dies without any sort of closure   
   as to what happened to the characters.   
      
   Of late I've tried to steer shy of continuing series and find those that   
   are actually finished.
