   This late, great Norwegian explorer sold his successful law practice   
   in 1925, at age 26, to go live as a trapper in Canada. Among his many   
   great accomplishments, the one that stands out the most, is his and   
   his archeologist wife Anne Stine's discovery of an ancient Viking   
   settlement in L'Anse Aux Meadows, Newfoundland.   
      
   During his years in Canada, he lived for a while with Chipewyan   
   Indians and became familiar with their legends and folklore. One of   
   their stories stated that a part of their tribe had migrated south,   
   never to be heard form again. This spurred Ingstad's curiosity, and in   
   the thirties, he went to White Mountain, AZ, and almost immediately   
   found common traits between the Apache & Navajo, and the Chipewyan.   
      
   This time being subjected to Apache history, he was once again spurred   
   on by tales of a fraction of Apache that escaped the clutches of the   
   US' 'civilizing' hand, and escaped to live in hiding in the Sierra   
   Madres. This time he formed an expedition constituting one of   
   Geronimo's warriors, and other local White Mountain Apache.   
      
   The search for these uncivilized Apache was documented in the book The   
   Apache Indians: In Search Of The Missing Tribe, which was released in   
   1939. Now, for the first time, the book is about to be released in
