   I'm surprised that "lynching" hasn't been part   
   of the discussion yet. Hate crimes involving   
   lynchings were not reserved exclusively to the   
   Deep South. I recall reading somewhere once about   
   several Chinese laborers being lynched for no good   
   reason other than the entertainment of the lynch mob.
