   How about "laudanum?" And then there were   
   all those "exotic" elixirs, guaranteed to

   In Texas, for instance, the licensing of dentists   
   did not begin until sometime in the 1930s.   
   I've read stories of chuckwagon cooks who carried   
   implements for dental extractions and did the job.
