From: russell-watson@comcast.net              Anybody catch the first episode last night? I thought it was OK, but       not great. The Lakota mysticism was laid on a bit thick for my taste,       especially as it was depicted onscreen as though it actually happened.       If they are going to show Loved by the Buffalo as communing with Wakan       Tanka and his dead ancestors giving him advice like Obi Wan Kenobi       telling Luke Skywalker to use the force then why didn't they show       Jesus crawling through the cave with Smith and young Wheeler? Is       Spielberg trying to tell us that the Lakota religion is real and the       Judeo-Christian one ain't?       I'll probably watch the remaining 5 because it's rerun season and       nothing else is on, but after looking forward to it since I saw the       first commercial I was seriously let down. At least it ain't got that       damned Scientologist, Cruise, in it...                     '97 FLSTF       To reply by e-mail, remove nospam from address.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
