   Cinematography-wise it's a beautiful production. It's in widescreen
and you get a real sense of the vast spaces, even on TV. I'm a
life-long southerner and am used to woods everywhere you look. My
first trip "out west" I was driving the late shift. We stopped for gas
in Amarillo and I racked out while one of my travelling companions
took over the driving. When I woke up sometime shortly after daybreak
we were in New Mexico. I was awestruck by the vastness of the
landscape, and all I could think was what a set of balls the first
person to ride across there on a horse must have had. I haven't made
it to the Dakotas or Montana or Wyoming yet but am looking forward to
it. I'm sure that they have a lot of the same sort of "Oh my God!"
impact when seen live for the first time.
