   While dropping in on internet discussion groups to make such comments   
   is a very constructive use of it....   
   On average I have to agree with you, though. I personally spend about   
   20% of the supposed national average time each person spends on it,   
   and the majority of that is spent watching the History Channel,   
   Discovery Channel, A&E, etc. I average about 3 hours a week of all   
   other TV combined. One exception is westerns. If one is on, either a   
   series or movie, I'll usually watch it. For the most part, given my   
   'druthers, I'll read a book. I also tend to watch less TV when home   
   alone than when my wife is here. Go figure...
