   I don't recall the name of the fort's commanding officer   
   at the time of the Fetterman incident, but his wife's   
   personal memoirs have been published - I think in recent   
   years, but not sure of that. I know I read her account   
   of life at the fort not too long ago. Sorry I haven't   
   any more information, but it just doesn't stick with me   
   these days.
