   Thanks - that jibes with what I had NOT remembered! ;-)   
   What does stick in my mind is her vivid account   
   of her life at the fort. I found it well worth   
   reading at the time. And I don't know if it was her   
   account or that of another writer, but I still have   
   a mental image of the rugged terrain nearby the fort,   
   accounts of Indian attacks on the work crews doing   
   logging and wood fuel gathering, and the ideal   
   siutation for an ambush at the point where the   
   Fetterman party met their match.
