From: woodchuck@wouldchuck.com              Does anyone know how military jurisdiction was determined in frontier       communities with a fort? Suppose a soldier committed a crime in a local       watering hole off the base. Would that be handled by the town marshal or the       provost marshal? Who would decide? Would the seriousness of the crime matter?       Something along these lines happened in my neck of the woods a few months       ago, and they're court-maritaling the guy, but I wondered what would happen       in the frontier towns. I've been pecking through my cavalry books but haven't       found a clear answer.              Woody              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
