   Since theres still some people reading the NG I'll post my recent   
   success (qualified) with BeOS Max on a HP 6340 Pavilion desktop.   
   Hardware:   
   300mhz celeron CPU   
   256MB ram   
   video- Ati Rage LT Pro (Im using the Vesa accepted driver until I can   
   find a better soulution)   
   Sound- Cirrus Logic aka Crystal Sound pnp cs 4237B   
   (Vector linux and Puppy couldnt support it, BeOS did!)   
   Modem ISA thing that always works with BeOS.   
      
   Only real hitch for me is that Heretic which comes with BeOS Max wont   
   display anything but the window...the sound works though.   
   I suspect its the Vesa driver thats at fault.
