   My understanding is it uses 3D hardware acceleration.  Each application   
   window is applied as a texture to some simple shapes, so that you can   
   move the windows around and resize them onscreen very quickly without   
   slowing down the rendering of each window.  I haven't played with the   
   Expose feature on OS X yet, nor am I hardcore Mac or Be programmer yet,   
   that's just my understanding from what I've read (in case it helps anyone   
   to code this).
