   Yay, I fixed it...kinda...edited the kernel file in   
   /boot/home/config/settings/kernel/drivers/kernel to disable calling the   
   BIOS.   
      
   I took a closer look at the R5.0.3 update package, and I'm supposed to   
   extract the file libroot.so to /boot/beos/system/lib/libroot.so. I did that   
   but About BeOS still reports it as System Version: R5.0.1.
