From: mmalater@nycap.rr.com              Hi all,               I am trying to port some apps to BeOS. Nothing really big, just       checking. What distribution would you recommend me ?               I tried the BeOS Personal Edition R5.0.3, but gcc/g++ seems kind of old       (2.96-beos??). I tried to install Developper Edition 1.1 (from       beosonline.com) but I got kernel crash a boot time (strange since BeOS       5.0.3 was working really great).               I have 1G of memory, and SATA disk. But again BeOS R5.0.3 was working       /almost/ perfectly.               BTW, is it possible to copy ASCII file from ext3fs to BeOS ? I tried       but the file was completely screw up, whereas the zip file was perfect ??               And last but not least I haven't been able to set up the networking. I       send a request here:        http://forum.beosjournal.org/viewtopic.php?p=6470       But I am not sure it's alife.              Comments very welcome,       Mathieu a beginer in the BeOS world.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
