Your problem is not the CDrom, it is BeOS itself or an incompatible BIOS   
   option or another hardware. If the CDrom wasn't working you wouldn't be able   
   to get up to the 5th icon in the first place.   
   When BeOS starts booting from the CDrom, press and keep SPACEBAR and hit   
   some of the options there (e.g. disable SMP, check the BIOS option etc etc).   
   By changing these options on the boot time it should help you out find out   
   what happened and finish up your installation.
