BONE is [B]e[O]S [N]etworking [E]nvironment. Be, Inc. was
rewriting the networking layer of BeOS in preparation for
BeOS v5.1. They made it more complient with Unix/Linux, but
it was never 100% completed. A leaked version numbered "7A"
found its way around the community.

Printing... Be, Inc. was also rewriting the printing module
for BeOS v5.1, but like BONE, it was never completed.

While you can find BONE 7A on BeShare, if you install it into
BeOS v5.03, you'll find that your printing fails due to an
interaction between BONE and printing. There is a fix for this
also on BeShare that updates the printer prefs. or definitions.

Also, there is a leaked copy of a beta of BeOS 5.1 called
Dano/Exp, also on BeShare (it id's itself as v5.10d) Dano
contains a copy of BONE, but not the 7a version.
