From: khaoskhreature@hotmail.com              Hi,              Just moved house and as part of the throw away/keep process found I had       enough bits to make a couple of pcs.              I remember seeing BeOS a while ago and I'd like to build a BeOS box and a       Linux box.              I figured a copy of 5 Max would run ok on a PII-350 with 256MB RAM and a 1G       disk. I used to be a Unix sys admin and I've done loads of Win stuff, but       I've never touched BeOS.              Just started reading alt.os.beos so if there's a FAQ I've missed, sorry.              I want to make a machine for playing media stored on an XP machine, the old       PII box is a lot quieter than any of my newer hardware and I think it would       sit acceptably in a room playing music for parties, movies etc. I've a       selection of Ethernet cards so I should be able to get something to work       with the available drivers.              I don't mind spending time reading documentation before I start, but can any       of you tell me up front if I'm likely to hit any show-stoppers ?              Thanks in advance,              Alan Walker              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
