   i guess the real question would be:   
   why does this patent only apply to handhelds?   
      
   i mean..  headlights, turnsignals, and horns are on both cars and   
   montorcycles.  shoe laces come on boots.  headphone jacks are on   
   walkmans and computers (including laptops).   
   how can the "feature" be unique specificly on a handheld when the same   
   "feature" existed on desktop computers since Xerox invented the mouse.
