      >Well, that's what I would do, anyway. I       >tend to make backups obsessively,       >though.              OK, so we are in agreement it is logical to install on that first       partition that is messing up LOL I need too buy another large fast hard       drive for backing up, but I am spending minimum money at the moment, to       maximise my profit between now and October on the stock. Since I use       BeOS, I am not really paranoid about my data unless a drive just fails       totally. Since this does happen, I need to be a little more cautious       than I am.              >Heh. That's what this group is for.       >Honestly, I haven't used BeOS is a       >while. I think Stephen B. may be able to       >help, though. Do you have any data you       >might lose if you re-install? I'm putting       >Max 3 on one my machines soon, but I       >don't think I will know any more after I do       >that.       >; )              I use just it, because everything else seems soooo slow to me. I find it       also easy to work with (usually) and soooo stable. I have some newer       data (libe files I thinke they are called) that I might lose on a       reinstall there, but nothing majorly important that I couldnt get back       at Bebits probably..... Well I decided to ahead with the instal just now       and blew it evidently. Maybe by choosing a different block size, from       the last time. All on the first partition got flushed, but the info that       was in the other partitions is still and now viewable. Not a totall       loss, but pretty big. Much of it I can get back though, with a lot of       work. I think I will do another larger block install and see if I get       real lucky, which I doubt LOL              Thanks for the help and will be back online soon with it...Dwight              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
