   It should be noted that there is a difference between MS-CHAP and CHAP.   
   I've made this mistake before. MS-CHAP is typical Redmond proprietary   
   stuff, CHAP not quite so. There is a subtle difference. Waldemar and the   
   Haiku stack has CHAP support on his to-do list.   
      
   Quite why Be decided against supporting CHAP we may never know, suffice   
   it to say it gave me no end of Internet misery when I was trying to run   
   BeOS in the UK, as most ISPs seemed to be using CHAP.
