I've used a few different pcmcia       network cards with BeOS 5.03, 5.1(dano), and Zeta. For a direct       connection, I use an old Linksys PCM100, which shows up as an NE2K, and       for wireless, I use the old AT&T WaveLan, though you need stuff from Dano       and Bone 7 to make wireless work (and WEP doesn't work).              As for using a static IP - I'd recommend you don't. Set it for DHCP and       let the network do the guessing. All my stuff is off a Linksys WRT54G,       and I run BeOS 5.03(wired desktop), SuSE Linux 9.1(wired desktop), SuSE       9.0(wireless laptop), Mepis Linux(wireless laptop), and my Wife runs       W'98(wireless laptop). I've also used BeOS 5.1(Dano wired & wireless on a       laptop), BeOS 5.03(wired laptop), and Zeta (wired laptop).              --              -bob-       _______________________________________       SuSE Linux Pro 9.1              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
