I knew or believe I knew       there were 3 different BeOS drivers for the Epson printers, so I hope       one of them could get it working. The print quality and the type of ink       lor it looked awfully sweet.              I am trying to just stay with BeOS and not go to an Apple computer even       for a secondary computer, although I have thought about it. There are       just too many things I like about BeOS, and for me it is just getting       better all the time in some ways. I just downloaded and installed the       latest open Nivida driver a few weeks ago and my Asus 7100 MX400 loves       it a lot more, than it did the other older Nivida driver. It made my       monitor rich in color, and much sharper and faster. Rudolf is doing a       great job on the video side.              You know there were only a few real things I thought I wanted or needed       more with BeOS 5 years ago in its user capabilities, and they all seem       to have gotten fixed or added, except for the ability to do great photo       quality printing. I have an 880C HP printer and it prints like a dream       for what it is with my webtv, but its quality looks terrible with BeOS.              Maybe is some dark cubbyhole of the BeOS universe there is someone       secretly working on a great driver for the R800, or some other printer       capable of that kind of photo quality printing. I can only dream, but I       am still a believer in BeOS and it does 99% of what I require.              It seems users of other systems are usually more impressed with how well       and fast my machine works, then I am with how their machines work. I am       not even running that much hardware either compared to what I could be.              I know I will get the D70 anyway soon and then try to figure a way to       use a R800 or maybe another printer, of that quality. If I cant figure       away around it, then I guess I will just have to get a Mac for backup       and printing. No offense to the OSX fans.              Well Eugenia thanks for the help and I will see ya on the flip       side...Dwight              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
