As far as I know, that is a rare example of someone
being extradited, and it is far more normal for someone
to be charged under the laws of the country they
   actually live in.

I was reading just recently about a virus released by a
Filipino that caused billions in damage and because
there was no Filipino law against that at the time, and
the Philippines constitution didn't allow backdated
laws, he wasn't charged at all. He wasn't extradited to
every country in the world that did have such laws to
   face consecutive life sentences either.

Maybe if I was selling a product with the allegedly
copyrighted "AM31" in the American market, instead
of just the Australian market, there would be grounds
for extradition. Remind me not to do that.
