   My intention for PDOS/386 and z/PDOS is not to copy the   
   bad design decisions of others, but to see what can be done   
   within the confines of C90. And it would appear that that   
   includes being able to write a news reader.   
      
   BTW, another thing I will need to do (I think) is to setvbuf   
   the COM1 stream to make it unbuffered.
