      From: muta...@gmail.com              Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's it.              An executable that is only 1.5 MB in size should be       optimized so that it can run on a system with a 5-bit       segment shift.              If it ends up running on a machine with an 8-bit       segment shift, so be it. That's the trade-off - you lose       a bit in granularity, but gain in a lot more memory       available.              But if you're running on a machine with only 2 MB       available, then assuming a 5-bit shift gives you       exactly what you need.              You don't gain anything if you force a 1.5 MB executable       to assume it is running on an 8-bit shift machine.              Optimize for the theoretical 5-bit shift.              And the same thing applies to a 3 MB executable having       an implied 6-bit segment shift etc.              BFN.
