|    Ubuntu without Snap    |
|    03 Sep 22 00:28:50    |
From: Sativa@tella.com              In a previous post it was explained why Snaps are slow.              Snaps are difficult to configure. For example by default a Snap        has access to home directory only.              Without Snap I have to download like people do with Windows.              Like going to the Mozilla website to download Firefox tarball.              How many applications are unusable inside the repository like this?              I have around 5 applications that are in the repository as a Snap,        but due to Snap confined nature are unusable, like mkvextract        suite which requires movie to be put in home directory before it        can be modified.              I now am over to Manjaro, it's surprising how fast Firefox starts.              apt update = pacman -Sy       apt upgrade = pacman -Syu              Snaps make repository useless, it has the application but crippled.              That also makes Ubuntu crippled and no longer of interest sadly.                     --              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
