   I had to use Etcher once to make a usb.  IIRC it was something about byte   
   order when   
   writing the USB.   All I know is it worked.   
   I've used Ventoy reliably for quite a while lately.  I too think it's a great   
   way to test   
   distros.  You also test the distro with your hardware, a very profitable test.
