   And we have yet another way that snapimages/apppaks/flatthingies can screw   
   things up. They were supposed to take away control of dependency   
   installations and updates away from the distro maintainers who were best   
   qualified to do such things, and give it to upstream developers who have   
   never been shown to be good at it. And the inevitable consequences have   
   ensued.
