   It is Thunderbird's Calendar reminders. I also get the ones that I   
   can't stop that come from what I believe is from the gmail mother ship,   
   but the box displays no information as to its heritage. I remember   
   trying to get rid of it as soon as I had installed 22.04, and   
   encountered this obtrusive thing for the first time, but all advice did   
   not stop it, so I just live with it. At some point, it's better to just   
   get on with life rather than waste more time.   
   For interest, I have never been bothered by accidental touchpad   
   operation. Maybe, as I never use it except on very rare occasions, its   
   sensitivity is set lower than yours.
