If so I hadn't notice.              Just happened again. It was a "do you want to upgrade lots of       programs you never use? It's no bother, honestly". I was typing       when the keyboard stopped responding for no apparent reason, and       was 7 or 8 chars in before I noticed. If it wants to talk to me,       fine, but it shouldn't grab my lapels for something trivial or       non-urgent. A news-style scrolling marquee would do it, and on a       window I can hide.              > If you       > want something that steals you focus, try this $%%$##S Windows 11,       > distraction galore!              Um, quite so. Having Windowed from 2 to 7 or so, I eventually       just stopped bothering.              --       Richard Heathfield       Email: rjh at cpax dot org dot uk       "Usenet is a strange place" - dmr 29 July 1999       Sig line 4 vacant - apply within              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
