Do you have an interest in connecting to this newsgroup /directly/?

That is, if you are running Mint it is very easy and free to use an
agent which is 'built-in' to the default Mint and register with a nntp
news server which is free and correspond much more easily than your route.

As I understand from reading your headers and your sig section, you are
   corresponding here via telnet + Palantir BBS + Synchronet  + NewsLink;

I don't know what the relationship is between synchronet/newslink and
astraweb (an nntp server provider system), but 'conventionally' astraweb
is not free to users, and since astraweb is a highwinds provider your
headers here make sense. But there ARE free providers available to you.

The idea being, using Mint and its agent Thunderbird and an account you
registered with eternal-september free nntp usenet provider, it would be
'easier' for your correspondence with this group.

But, I don't know exactly how you go about telnetting into your BBS. If
I were going to do it, my connectivity would be the same broadband cable
internet connection I use for browser. But maybe you use telnet via
dialup, which would be very slow for a browser which would make the
registration for free nntp service a problem.

The bottom line is, do you telnet by dialup or something faster? Or are
you in some remote location that does not have 'good' connectivity to
   the internet?
