   I have always done the same but a 15 year old 650W box is a little   
   inadequate.   
      
   As for a multimeter, I never seem to have the right probes!   
      
   The good news (I think) is that I have located a local engineer who   
   seems to know what he is doing. He is hopefully going to come tomorrow   
   evening.
