Anyone experienced this too?              Yes; I plead guilty to having been surprised in my 'ignorance' of the       permissions and ownership 'bizness'.              It isn't always true that just because you can 'see' it, you can do       whatever you want to do w/ it.              In the situation (which isn't worth my describing here) I had trouble       w/, I had to find a workaround.              However, in my experience, the problem wasn't that I was 'deceived' (as       in thinking I had copied something but actually had not); my problem was       that I could NOT just copy/paste the target to where I wanted it.              I solved it by opening a file manager as root, but plenty of advice       places say, "Don't do that."              --       Mike Easter              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
