   Never blindly copy ame directory to another machine.   
   First make hidden files visible.   
   Next copy everything BUT those.   
   Later, work out which ones you need such as .thunderbird and copy those   
   separately. I recently had a fear that sylpheed was going to cause   
   problems because my config file for sylpheed read .sylpheed-2 when the   
   version installed was sylphhed-3. It turned out that didn't matter.
