   Are you sure that the NUC SSD, which you cloned was okay. That the hardware   
   of the NUC was dying and not the SSD from it?

   We suspect that the NUC is flakely as it was giving problems, It still is   
   playing up.   
      
   Okay, I would   
      
   1) Make a clone copy of any/all hard disks (ssd) that you think you might   
   use in your trouble shooting.   
      
   2) Make sure the bootable USB stick is still a worker.   
      
   3) Try booting the HP400 with the USB stck   
      
   4) If it does boot try booting off one/both of the SSD
