   I suppose the corresponding thing in Windows is the little C# compiler   
   that comes bundled with the .net framework(s), e.g.   
   c:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\csc.exe. I remember I used that   
   to build some simple utility thing for myself, in a job with draconian   
   rules about installing software... Don't remember what it was though.
