Make sure the Linux headers are there,       or whatever. He should have notes from the last time we       went through this. It's not simply a matter of "make clean".       I would start a separate folder and do a new TBS.              If the TBS died, perhaps the broken TBS also caused       some DKMS activity to jam up and that's why his video card       did not survive the transition in one piece. Maybe the video       card has switched from binary blob to FOSS driver or something.       I don't know the names of the AMD options all that well, maybe       one of them is "amdgpu" ?
