   open the menu, type preferred ... pick preferred applications.   
      
   I find however, if you have an html document on your drive, I right click and   
   pick 'open   
   as' and then pick 'other' and pick the browser  you want.  Then click the make   
   default.   
   This is the "hit it with a hammer" method.
