From: pinnerite@gmail.com              My main system has not been booting into Cinnamon from time to time and took       several slow attempts.       Today it was irritating. Once again I recruited ChatGPT.              I have two hard drives one ir the other of which I enable when I want yto       take a backup.       They are in fstab of course.              Apparently when either are offline, Linux hangs around until they respond and       this gives rise to delays and sometimes failure to boot properly.              ChatGPT's solution was to add "nofail" in the fstab line like thisn (it should       be one line):              UUID=6ffa4082-d80f-4711-a7eb-538054d9440d /mnt/6ffa4082-d80f-471       -a7eb-538054d9440d ext4 defaults, nofail 0 0              I thought someone might find this useful.              Have a good weekend.              Alan              --       Linux Mint 22.1 kernel version 6.8.0-84-generic Cinnamon 6.4.8       AMD Ryzen 7 7700, Radeon RX 6600, 32GB DDR5, 2TB SSD, 2TB Barracuda              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
