With LM it's just one       > click of the 'shield' for everything.              You remind me of the coming of Japanese cars to a market dominated by       e.g. British ones, back in the day.              British cars were tricky to start on cold mornings, and even after       they got going, were prone to breakdowns. Sometimes parts were       ill-fitting or fell off altogether. They leaked oil on the driveway.       Basic things like a car radio cost extra.              Along came the Japanese, with cars that “just worked”. They never had       any trouble starting. Once started, they did usually get to where you       wanted to go. The parts actually fitted together properly. Your       driveway stayed clean. The car radio came standard!              Technology that simply does what you want without any fuss or drama       should be something that you can take for granted. But it can be       difficult to advertise the absence of something, even if it’s a bad       thing.              Particularly if the company with the inferior product has a much       bigger advertising budget.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
