that needed doing.. a virus scan, defrag, update apps, clean registry,
   software updates, driver

trying to keep Winx running well, as I did using it. With LM it's just one
click of the 'shield' for everything.

"Welcome" and then it starts spinning its little circle of balls for almost
   two minutes. That's usually
when I go get some coffee. Then when you're finally in your session, the fun
really begins with Windows constantly giving "recommendations" and
"suggestions" and "do you want this?", "do you want that?", "have you tried
this", "did you know this?" and "
have you considered that?". Just opening Outlook or Word will also nag you
with some messages or notifications. And then there's the start menu. One
click that's slightly off and Edge suddenly opens and presents you with
"latest news" or a bunch of
advertisements or "search results" that you didn't ask for. And don't get me
started on the "settings" that are all over the place. Then there's the
updates: "You're 100% there. Please keep your computer on". Only that "100%"

What a joy to do what I want on my computer without Microsoft constantly
   looking over my shoulder
   and slowing everything down.

In the Notifications portion of Settings, is a convoluted thing with around
seven semi-hidden preferences (containing the marketing notifications to be
thrust upon the screen). Application notification preferences are shown at the
   first level.

The "Please Wait", it has a lot of toys it was playing with ("Sleep Studies")
and those need to be put away correctly. There is likely a game of Tetris is
was playing, and it needs a moment to record its high score.
