   Trying  Gimp 2.7.4 in Mageia-2 Beta3 I (and others, it seems) came   
   across a problem with the Text facility.   
      I learn that the problem is fixed in Gimp 2.8, and that 2.8 will be   
   in Mageia-2 RC.   
     (N.B. There are some contentious changes in the Save area in 2.8 that   
   have been causing heated debate in Gimp circles...)   
      
   Just to be on the safe side in the meantime, in Mandriva 2010.2 I have   
   added 'gimp' to /etc/urpmi/skip.list so I can stay with Gimp 2.6.
