   Interesting.  Mageia and Mandriva have those entries, bug also have   
   a case where it is run from rc.sysinit, for speedboot.  Looks like I was wrong,   
   in making the correction. :-)

   For testing, I just formatted one partition twice with mkfs.ext2.  The first   
   run returned ...   
   This filesystem will be automatically checked every 24 mounts or   
   180 days, whichever comes first.  Use tune2fs -c or -i to override.   
      
   The second run returned ...   
   This filesystem will be automatically checked every 22 mounts or   
   180 days, whichever comes first.  Use tune2fs -c or -i to override.   
      
   A third test showed 36 mounts. Looks like it varies the number of mounts,   
   but not the days.

   With ext4, the fsck runs much faster, so it's normal to run it on every boot.
