From: VBCoen@gmail.com              Hello All!              I have installed a x64 version into a 500Gb HDD (4Gb swap and the rest       Linux on 6GB Ram using an E6600 Dual 2 core CPU) to upgrade my 2010.2       running on a 320 HDD that seems to be getting issues with inodes (missing,       dups etc) despite the fact that smart is not reporting any problems with       it!              Having slowing moving over the data & s/w from the old drive I now find       myself with some problems that I hope someone can help with:              The Rosa interface I find a total waste of space as well as consuming high       CPU cycles. I have added a Icon that has the conventional menu but that is       sitting on the Rosa botton system line etc. I would like to kill it all and       revert to the way is was on 2010.x and before. Is there a way of doing so       without screwing things up? I am assuming that just uninstalling Rosa will       not do it!              The other issue Is that I need to install Win 7 (x64) Ultimate on the       system and yes I should have done that first but it has only just arrived       and I will also update my VirtualBox VM with XP on but I must have it also       as a seperate boot because my idiot Epson Photo 950 printer will not report       the ink levels under the VM as well as running some dev s/w that would       otherwise run too slow although having said that I only reboot once per       blue moon (the system runs 24/7)!              Can I just reload the install Mdv 2011 disk for a fresh install and use the       partition service to create a new partition at the begining having resized       the drive to create the space then abort out after, and 'rescue/update' the       boot sector for grub?              Many thanks for any help on these issues,              Vince              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
