But now, every time the mdkapplet thing runs,       it insists that the MDV version is a 'critical update', and wants me to       'upgrade'. I just know that if I accept the updates, I'll be exactly       back where I started - stuck with a stripped-down, free-only version       that just doesn't work for what I want.              There's gotta be a way around this, no?              And while I'm on the subject of updates, why is it that MDV tries to       flip-flop between v0.7.7-1 and v0.7.7-4 of the drakguard-policy package?        You install one and it tells you the other is available as an update,       and so on ad infinitum.              Oh, and one other query about updates; when there are (or MDV /thinks/       there are) updates available, I get the pop-up in the corner of the       screen saying that updates are available which vanishes after a few       seconds, but if I don't spot that, I don't get the       exclamation-mark-in-a-red-circle reminder icon in the system tray       anymore. What's going on there?              As always, all advice welcomed!              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
