   Thanks, BT!  I agree, things running ~12% more slowly wouldn't be   
   noticeable most of the time.  Others here have said that in VirtualBox,   
   dynamic virtual disks are slower than static ones, but haven't given any   
   numbers.   
      
   OTOH my test system has 7 native installs.  I think some of the problems   
   I'm encountering there, especially Wi-Fi setup with some distros, would   
   be masked by using a VM with the host's network connection.
