They sound more knowledgeable than the       "big box" stores where I live. I see three possibilities:              1) What I read online is correct, and those vendors just haven't heard       it yet. No problem installing Linux there, except for people scared off       by "disable secure boot".              2) My knowledge is wrong and the vendors are correct. That will limit       Linux to either machines that /can/ disable secure boot, or distros that       have bought a signed key.              3) None of us know what's going on.
