That is still DHCP, just not       dynamic DHCP.              My local net has a few IP addresses not used. One of those will       be handed out in dynamic fashion if a guest brings in a laptop       and wants to join the net. The router is set to enforce       encryption for all wireless traffic, and that requires the       password (key), so I don't have to worry about neighbors       accidentally making use of my FIOS connection.              Cheers!              jim b.              --       UNIX is not user unfriendly; it merely        expects users to be computer-friendly.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
